When Heather Nichols delivered a healthy baby girl on April 17, like all new parents, she and husband Joe Nichols were grateful and happy beyond words. But unlike most new parents, their path to delivering a baby to term was a challenging, difficult and often heartbreaking one. The couple had suffered five miscarriages prior to the birth of daughter Dylan River Nichols, and this week on The View, they share their story in an effort to help other women who may be experiencing similar challenges (June 1 at 11:00 am ET).
Joe will also perform a song special to the couple, "That Would Be Her." He sang it to Heather at their wedding, and Heather played the song throughout the lengthy and frequent treatments during her pregnancy. Additionally a line from the song inspired their daughter's middle name. The song can be found on Joe's award winning debut CD, titled Man With A Memory.
In addition to their appearance on The View, Heather has launched a blog designed to share the information she accumulated during her research into treatments and her experiences throughout this pregnancy. Please visit www.morethananicholsworth.com for more information.
